What is a PLANT-based fabric?

Plant-based fabrics are derived from raw materials that contain cellulose. You may already be familiar with cotton, hemp, linen…but what about banana, nettle, and bark?

Plant-based fibers have to go through a variety of processes to go from raw fiber to finished fabric. They can come from the seed, flower, leaf, stem or roots. Depending on the source, the fibers can be scutched, retted, threshed, spun, beaten, stripped, or any combination of these.
